Ayurvedic massage is a well-being massage known for its preventive virtues and its ability to promote the distribution of energy throughout the body.
This is a type of massage that can be performed daily to promote drainage of the body by overcoming any obstructions in the blood circulation.
We practice Indian Ayurvedic massage at home, in Brussels and in Belgium.
The Ayurvedic massage was designed by an Indian doctor called Swami Yoga-Anand Bharati. It is inspired by Ayurveda or "science of life" (or "science of longevity") and traditional Indian massage.
The principle of massage is based on the balance between air (the Vat designating hormones and nerves), water (the Kaph designating everything that is liquid in the body) and fire (the Pitt designating the organs digestive and enzymes). It is the harmony of these 3 elements that brings inner well-being.
The application of Ayurvedic massage is subdivided into 3 types:
All over the body: Abyanga which is the basis of traditional Ayurvedic massage.
At the height of the front: the Siro Dara.
At the sole of the foot with a bowl: the Kansu (our Kansu is made in India in an artisanal way).
On a massage table, the patient wears only underwear or undresses completely (only if the patient finds it more comfortable for him) and lies down to receive the Ayurvedic massage . The practitioner uses an essential oil made from medicinal plants (palm oil, sesame ...) and heated to a temperature equal to that of the body.
To distribute vital energy (Prana) throughout the whole body, pressure, friction and kneading are applied to the 107 vital points (Marmas).
The ideal is to stimulate all the energy points of the body but depending on the expected result, it is possible to only work on a specific area such as the head or the feet.
The Ayurvedic massage brings many benefits which are summed up in the stimulation of the whole organism. More than a massage, it is an art of living whose main benefits are:
Relaxation and lightness of the body by stimulating muscles, tendons, bones and skin.
Optimization of blood, lymphatic and hormonal circulation thus promoting the elimination of toxins.
Strengthening the nervous and immune systems.
The evacuation of stress.
Strengthening the body and increasing longevity.
